Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks Ranger Programs
From summer campfire programs to guided snowshoe hikes through giant sequoia groves, park ranger programs provide great engagement with Sequoia and Kings Canyon.
Sequoia & Kings Canyon park rangers run a variety of excellent programs designed to educate and entertain park visitors. Whether it’s a ranger-led hike, or an evening campfire under the stars, there’s something special about having a national park ranger on hand. They’re your local experts, with plenty of stories and fascinating facts about big trees, black bears, yellow-bellied marmots, local geology, meteor showers and more.
Sequoia & Kings Canyon ranger programs are all free of charge. Programs rotate with the season and park region. The widest variety and number of ranger-led programs happen in the summer, from late June through August. View the current schedule of NPS events, and when you arrive, check visitor centers and bulletin boards in each area for details on upcoming Sequoia ranger programs, as well as schedule changes.
In addition to programs from park rangers, naturalists from the Sequoia Parks Conservancy lead visitors on walks departing from both John Muir Lodge and Wuksachi Lodge.
