Accessible Rooms in Sequoia National Park

Registration: The accommodations are a short distance across the main road from the registration desk at the lodge. It is advisable to keep your luggage in the car while checking in and if needed, ask for bell service to assist with your luggage at your designated room. There is a paved sidewalk from the parking lot to the rooms, but there is a slight incline. Individuals with limited mobility may require further assistance.

Parking: We have ADA parking located in front of the main lodge building with access to our registration desk, restaurant, and conference/meeting rooms. ADA parking is also available in the hotel parking areas with an ADA van and bellman/driver available to assist people to reach the buildings from these parking areas. The Lodgepole Village and Market has ADA parking, and is wheelchair accessible as well.

Entrance Doors: There are automatic doors at the Lodgepole Village and Market. The main Wuksachi Lodge building and hotel buildings' doors are not automatic, but handles are at a height that allows a person in a wheelchair to reach and operate them. Please let us know at check-in if you require assistance as we have staff nearby to assist in the main lodge building as well.

Front Desk Registration: There is a wheelchair height portion of the front desk counter where check-in can be done comfortably. Wheelchairs can access the entire area easily.

Ramps & Elevators: There are ADA ramps to access all hotel buildings, but no elevators. All ADA accessible rooms are on the entry level. There is an ADA accessible elevator in the main lodge building to assist anyone in need in reaching the conference rooms or public telephones on the bottom floor. The entire Lodgepole Village and Market is on the ground level and all is ADA accessible.

Dining: Our restaurant and bar area is within the main lodge building and is ADA accessible.

Shopping Areas: Our gift shop is in the main lodge building and is completely open with no doors or obstacles.

*The only real limitation to an ADA individual is our nearly 20 feet of snow that we average each winter. Our staff does an excellent job with snow removal, but often times during storms it is not possible to keep the walkways and parking lots clear, and it may be a day or two after a storm before all ADA parking, walkways to and from buildings, etc., are clear enough for use by a wheelchair or other persons with special needs. Our staff is always ready and happy to assist and we have and will continue to overcome these obstacles as needed. Generally, ADA accessibility is much better from May until early November than in the snowy months. In addition, there are many paved trails especially set aside for ADA within the park and the giant sequoia groves that are not accessible during the snowy months.
