Hume Lake Recreation Area

Sandy coves and beaches line the shores of picturesque Hume Lake, located on United States Forest Service land and accessible via either the Generals Highway from Sequoia, or the Highway 180 from Kings Canyon. A place where legendary fish stories are made, Hume Lake is stocked with trout. There’s a popular campground here, as well as a gas station, market, and boat rentals.

Canoes, 4-wheel off-road tour, Ponderosa ropes course, mountain biking and paintball are offered to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Plus, boat and kayak rentals are available in-person beginning June 10.
