Kings Canyon National Park

Kings Canyon National Park

With its deep valleys, soaring trees, and distinctive rock outcroppings, few visitors to Kings Canyon National Park are surprised to discover that John Muir once called this place "a rival to Yosemite."

Located just a short drive from Sequoia National Park, Kings Canyon Park is composed of two distinct areas – Grant Grove (home to the General Grant tree, a.k.a. "the Nation's Christmas Tree") and Cedar Grove. Here, amidst the areas’ hundreds of soaring trees, visitors can snap photos reminiscent of urban skyscrapers, try to wrap their arms around nature’s giants, and marvel at the history these amazing trees have seen.

In addition to Kings Canyon National Park’s famous trees, this glaciated valley also features miles of hiking trails, horseback riding, and camping – a perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts of every age.

Testimonials

“My Mother and I stayed two nights at the Wuksachi Lodge in the Silliman building recently.  The views and surrounding environment were spectacular.  The cuisine at the Lodge was wonderfully tasty and well prepared.  Lola, our server both days, was very friendly and a great server.  The room was nice and our view of the forest was second to none.  We really enjoyed our stay.  Would recommend it to anyone.”
