Press Release - Sequoia Mother's Day Brunch 2009

Mother's Day Brunch

Let Mother Nature Provide the Free Entertainment for Mother's Day in Beautiful Sequoia National Park

Sequoia's Wuksachi Lodge® is the perfect backdrop for family-friendly celebrations

SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK, CA, April 24, 2009 - Mother's Day is traditionally a holiday celebrated by giving gifts such as cards, flowers, and candy.  Yet, most mothers would likely say that their favorite gift of all is the "experience" of spending time with family members.  With that in mind, the upcoming Mother's Day holiday provides a perfect opportunity to pack up the car with moms, dads, kids, extended family members, and friends and head to nearby Sequoia National Park for an "experiential" celebration.

And, the timing could not be better to catch Sequoia and King's Canyon National Parks in the height of springtime glory.  Wildlife is waking from winter slumber, park hiking trails and meadows are blossoming with seasonal wildflowers, and streams are cascading with melting snow.  In addition to the stunning scenic beauty, the parks offer a variety of family-friendly and budget-friendly recreational activities.  From touring the Giant Forest Museum or joining a ranger-led nature walk to earning a badge in the Junior Ranger Program (all free activities), there is plenty to see and do for all ages and interests.

In honor of Mother's Day, Sequoia's Wuksachi Lodge Dining Room will offer a special brunch on May 10 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. that offers a complimentary meal for mothers (with paid adult).  The holiday brunch, designed by Wuksachi's Chef de Cuisine Jaime Rigau, will feature made-to-order omelets, poached salmon, roast chicken, assorted salads, a fresh fruit tray, and a full array of traditional breakfast items.  There will also be a carving station with round of pork and leg of lamb.

The cost of the buffet is $19.95 for adults and $9.95 for children 12 years old and younger (plus tax) and mothers dine free with another paid adult.  Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling the dining room at 559-565-4070.

Testimonials

“My Mother and I stayed two nights at the Wuksachi Lodge in the Silliman building recently.  The views and surrounding environment were spectacular.  The cuisine at the Lodge was wonderfully tasty and well prepared.  Lola, our server both days, was very friendly and a great server.  The room was nice and our view of the forest was second to none.  We really enjoyed our stay.  Would recommend it to anyone.”
