Meetings In the Mountains
Meetings in the Mountains
Few meetings destinations can rival a National Park for the motivational aspects, clear thinking, and humbling perspectives that fresh mountain air and natural alpine beauty inspire. Yet finding the ideal combination of modern, versatile conference facilities in a high-country setting has proved to be one of the meeting industry’s consistent challenges.
Enter the Wuksachi Lodge and its surroundings in California’s Sequoia National Park.
The landmark $15 million lodging complex, opened in 1999, features deluxe accommodations, ample free parking, retail and rental shops for sundries, souvenirs and snow sports, and a full-service bar and restaurant offering both casual food and fine dining menus.
Wuksachi’s versatile meeting space is designed to handle small groups from 15 to 90. The lodge’s main building, separate from guest room buildings, includes a conference level with 1,320 square feet of meeting space. It can easily be divided into four separate meeting rooms, named Alta, Kaweah, Sawtooth and Whitney for prominent local mountain peaks. The four rooms, each measuring 384 square feet, have private entrances and wireless Internet access. Full audio/visual equipment, such as high resolution projectors, sound systems, large screen television, VCR and DVD players, also are available on-site. Reflecting a mountain theme, the gracious decor is a combination of natural woods, Mission-style furniture, and a color scheme of moss green, redwood, and sand. With its own on-site banquet services, the Wuksachi Lodge offers an array of special menus for refreshment breaks, meals, receptions, and theme parties.
Between meetings, delegates can enjoy the variety of recreational activities available in the Park. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter, hiking and nature walks, picnics, sightseeing, and naturalist programs add fun to any meeting agenda, spouse/guest program, or free time. The lodge offers 102 guest rooms in three price categories -- Standard, Deluxe, and Superior -- and sleep between two and six persons each. Rooms are located in three detached buildings connected by paved footpaths to the central lodge, which houses registration, restaurant, and meeting rooms. Guest amenities include in-room televisions with cable and movies, direct dial telephones with data ports, hair dryers, coffee makers with organic coffee, mini refrigerators, ski racks, daily maid service, bell service, and ample self- parking.
Group bookings (10 rooms or more) are available year-round. For information on conference and banquet services, please contact Darren Walters, Wuksachi Lodge Sales Manager via email, or by calling 559-253-5680.
