However, the Generals Highway connecting Kings Canyon National Park to Sequoia National Park closes during periods of heavy snow. During these closures, travelers are not able to enter Sequoia National Park from the Highway 180 entrance.
Chains may be required at any time within the park. Visitors are reminded to carry chains in vehicle at all times. The National Park Service provides a 24-hour information hotline (recorded message) for current road and weather conditions at (559) 565-3341.
